The Senior Strategic Pricing Analyst position is responsible for the execution and support of strategic pricing process and business analytics activities, including strategy and planning, measurement and analytics. The position is a member of the Strategic Pricing Team that works closely with sales & commercial managers in creating & executing pricing strategies that ensure product & service profitability. Prepares and communicates complex analysis and solutions in a simple, clear and concise way to provide decision support and recommendations to leadership to help drive execution of initiatives. Applies new and innovative technologies to enable efficiencies and drive improved decision-making. Candidate is expected to leverage pricing analytics, competitive & market intelligence, win/loss information, customer trends and negotiation strategies. Excellent communication and relationship building skills are required to collaborate across numerous functions, including: sales, product line management, customer service, merchandising, transportation, supply chain and finance. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to migrate efficiently through complex systems and data, can simultaneously manage multiple high priority projects. Principal Accountabilities 30% Create and execute pricing strategies based on the business unit strategies using pricing science and analytics to capture commercial opportunities, reduce margin leakage, expand into new markets and improve sales efficiency. 30% Support day-to-day pricing activities, execute price builds, provide price guidance to sales team and tracking price performance. Provide analytical support for the product line and sales teams while helping them prepare for contract negotiations and executing deals. 20% Responsible for development, maintenance and validation of all analytics supporting the pricing process, including inputs to price setting and exception analyses. Identify margin improvement opportunities through the analysis of historical sales and pricing data, internal cost-to-serve data, customer and product segmentation, market trends and competitive positions. Proactively provide price recommendations to the commercial team. 20% Strategic Pricing continuous improvement projects Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Math or related field Minimum five years professional experience in one or more of the following: Pricing, revenue management, sales, commercial management, finance, supply chain, trading and business development Minimum one year experience in statistical modeling experience and strong quantitative analysis skills with proven ability to recognize trends and opportunities while making recommendations for application Ability to work independently with high level oversight Ability to adapt and learn in a changing work environment Ability to manage multiple priorities Strong attention to detail Ability to work in a team environment Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written with ability to effectively communicate complex concepts across multiple functions and levels of the organization Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree or higher Minimum three years strategic business analysis and reporting experience with a demonstrated ability to provide recommendations for commercial strategy and tactics Minimum three years strategic pricing experience: customer and product segmentation, value-based pricing, competitive intelligence, and price target/floor/ceiling Proficiency in using pricing tools like PROS, Zilliant, Vendavo, etc. SAP experience (APO SNP, price conditions), statistical analysis software (Minitab, SPSS, SAS, R, Umetrics), linear & nonlinear optimization modeling experience, and data visualization (Tableau, Power BI).
