Description SUMMARY: The primary responsibility is to operate the equipment in assigned work area. Monitor the processes of departmental equipment and systems so that product quality is guaranteed and package integrity is assured.
Participate as a Team Member of their assigned business function.
Direction is provided by the Shift Manger who coordinates the activities of Team members involved in processing, filling, and/or packaging of product for their assigned Business Unit.
The Business Unit goals are consistent with company goals and business unit Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to include safety, quality, productivity and customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a list that describes some of the duties to be performed.
Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of assigned equipment on the filling line. Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and of Company assets. Partner with Quality Assurance, executing and supporting all Quality programs that ensure the production of Safe, Quality Foods. Complete assigned paperwork daily. Document all required operational checks.
Properly date and sign all required charts, graphs, and paperwork.
These checks are considered legal documents and are required by the FDA and USDA.
Accurately complete all documentation associated with production and change-overs.
Maintain accurate records and logs as required.
Perform line observations, calculate downtime, perform safety checks, and quality checks, quality audits, complete maintenance work orders and take action and make recommendations based on these results.
Perform proper sanitation, sterilization, equipment C.I.P. and proper cleanliness procedures of the workstation and canning system. Identify and correct equipment problems to maximize production efficiencies, and report potential equipment problems to maintenance. Comply with area Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Assurance Parameters (QAPs), Good Manufacturing Process (GMPs) Procedures, and Safe, Quality Food (SQF) Standards. Be knowledgeable in all required Quality Assurance checks and in HACCP related items. Comply with all company safety procedures and guidelines and comply with all company guidelines and policies. Clean and sanitize machines to meet legal and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized work area respecting GMP's. Rotate positions with other Filling Team Members. Cross-train and achieve equipment operation certifications on all equipment within the Business Unit.
Able to lift and carry up to 65 pounds consistently. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Employees must be able to use information from a timeline/schedule chart to solve a simple scheduling problem.WRITING APTITUDE to convey business messages as written notes to pass on routine information, make requests, or respond to recommendations and warnings.
Ability to reproduce information received orally or visually and can take simple notes from short oral presentations or from reference materials.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS are the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Mathematical skills also include the ability to perform the above operations using units of American measurement, weight, and volume measurements. Employee must be able to accurately record and chart results and operate a calculator to determine sums, averages, and ranges.REASONING ABILITY is the process to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations by thinking about something in a logical way in order to form a conclusion or judgment.PHYSICAL DEMANDS are the physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop and climb stairs;
uses hands to operate controls and inspect product.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
