Summary:
The Controls Engineer will work with project managers, engineers, mechanical contractors, building owners, and utility companies to deliver completely engineered documentation for the installation of building automation systems and components. The controls Engineer will work with project managers and control technicians to develop successful system design and implementation of control system projects.
Responsibilities



  • Survey building systems and equipment


  • Work with engineers, contractors, and vendors to obtain equipment schedules and submittals


  • Develop control systems documentation


  • Layout Control System Network Diagrams


  • Develop Sequences of Operation and System Points Lists


  • Utilize Microsoft Visio to Create Control Schematics and Wiring Diagrams


  • Compile Installation Bill of Materials and Equipment Cut Sheets


  • Maintain properly updated documentation for field personnel


  • Document jobsite changes with As-built Drawings


  • Assemble final Operation & Maintenance Manuals


  • Submit to mechanical engineer/owner/general contractor for review and approval


  • Develop systems checkout and commissioning reports


  • Assist in commissioning of mechanical and control systems


  • Advance Control Division's use of technology


  • Customer support using remote access to their systems


  • Work with local utility representatives to provide customer incentives and rebates


    Requirements


    • Associates/Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering and/or a certificate in HVAC


    • Advanced computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio


    • Ability to multitask and be self-motivated


    • Good interpersonal and communication skills


    • Sense of responsibility and ownership for projects


    • Excellent customer service skills


    • Clear understanding of Company mission and values


    • Ability to work independently and as part of team


    • Detail oriented, organized, and results driven


      Preferred


      • (5+) years of Commercial HVAC or Controls experience


      • Experience with Alerton, Distech, Tridium, Johnson, Siemens, or other control systems


      • Construction project management experience
