SUMMARY Perform machine operations and setup on Mitsubishi, Okuma and Kellenberger CNC Grinders ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reads process sheets, blueprints and setup instructions of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
  • Ability to mount all required tooling in machine as required per the part specific setup instructions.
  • Understand general grinding wheel nomenclature / specifications.
  • Understand and follow safe operating practices when performing setups and operations of CNC Grinders.
  • Possesses the ability to mount and balance grinding wheels of various types.
  • Possesses the ability to select the correct grinding wheel & dresser, based upon the features needing to be ground, and the machine being used to grind a specific part.
  • Ability to program grinders, with an understanding of proper feeds & speeds based upon the part specifications.
  • Understands the cause / effect relationship between part print requirements, and the various aspects of the process that affects each requirement.
  • Can inspect parts and identify required gaging using methods as described by the quality department for different part variations.
  • Can properly document setups using Microsoft Excel for future reference as needed.
  • May be required to operate/setup additional equipment as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned. TECHNICAL SKILLS Computer literate with the ability to learn and work statistical and manufacturing software applications. Duties require verbal and written communication skills. Microsoft Office Professional, Word, Excel, statistical and manufacturer software a plus. QUALIFICATIONS Intermediate reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent, or a 2 degree program. LANGUAGE SKILLS Communication, Problem Solving, Analytical Ability, Interpersonal and Dexterity Skills are important qualities for a Successful Job Performance. WORK ENVIRONMENT Perform preventive maintenance on machine and maintain cleanliness of work area .
