  Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  As a Route Driver, you are responsible for collecting and transporting raw materials from our broad customer base back to facilities and transfer stations. Our customers range in size from small family farms, larger hog confinements, locker plants, and restaurants up to large-scale slaughterhouses and food processors. Driving a straight truck or a tractor-trailer, you collect materials from multiple customers along your route each day.
  
  
  At pick-up locations, you may load farm mortalities utilizing a winch or clam-loader. You always inspect raw material for any foreign or hazardous material at the time of pick up. Conscientiously, you provide each customer with a receipt of pick-up and obtain the signature of the appropriate management at the location. After completing your route, you scale your truck at the facility or dock and go home.
  
  
  You manage your route with an onboard computer (OBC) and also keep an up-to-date backup paper log for compliance purposes. Taking responsibility for your truck, you keep it clean and complete a vehicle condition report on a daily basis. You provide exceptional professional service to all customers and follow all laws and regulations. You love that you get to hit the road for a living, while still being home every night!
  
  
  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A ROUTE DRIVER

  • Must be 21 years of age.
    
  • High School Diploma or GED.
    
  • Class A or B CDL license and tanker endorsement.
    
  • Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/
    
    
    
    Preferred Qualifications
    
    • 
      
    • Two or more years of experience operating a commercial vehicle with a vacuum system preferred.
      
    • Must have a good driving record.
      
    • Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers.
      
      
      
      Physical Demands
      
      • 
        
      • Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
        
      • Occasionally push, pull, up to 100 lbs.
        
      • Occasionally lift up to 80 lbs.
        
      • Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
        
      • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
        
        
        
        Work Environment
        Job functions will be carried out in a commercial vehicle that services between 10-15 customers per day and in a plant environment.
