JOB SUMMARY : Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrical Tech is responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of the department's electrical systems, participating in in the installation of equipment and line modifications. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Inform other shifts of any problems that have occurred throughout the day. Communicate with the equipment manufacturers/vendors on any problems and follow-up on getting the right parts needed to correct the problems. Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance plans and work orders using SAP. Schedule work assignments and follow through with getting them completed correctly and in a timely manner. Inform the Maintenance Supervisor of any major problems and day to day activities. Assist the Electricians with trouble shooting and any problems they may have throughout the day. Lends knowledge and ideas to the solution of problems involving the, receiving, processing, packaging, casing and warehousing department's electrical systems. Keep complete and accurate records of the equipment and a check list of things that need to be completed. Maintains regular and consistent attendance. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Adhere to safe work practices, complete monthly safety audits/observations, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Responsible for initiatives in the following areas: Lean Manufacturing, Cost Reduction and Mechanical Downtime reduction. Train new hires as needed Coordinate the activities in the Department, as required May be asked to participate in project work, as needed Lend knowledge and ideas to the solution of problems involving electrical systems. May fill in for Maintenance Lead, as needed. Assist mechanics as required. Perform other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION: One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. EXPERIENCE : Three years strong industrial electrical background in a manufacturing environment (food processing plant preferred. Experience in mechanical systems, welding and pneumatics helpful. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: In order to promote a manufacturing environment that is safe and efficient for both personnel and food, the ability to effectively communicate in basic English (both verbal and written) is required. This includes the ability to speak, read and comprehend safety instructions, rules and warnings for self and others in both normal and emergency situations. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as electrical schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: N/A - No Licenses required OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Ability to delegate and follow up on workload needed.
