FE/Vacuum Coater Assistant Team Lead (3rd Shift)

The primary role of the FE/Vacuum Coater Assistant Team Lead is to lead the 3rd Shift Front End team to safely accomplish all of the production, quality, and cleaning tasks normally associated with the Front End area. Shift schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 10 PM-6 AM Essential Duties include: Lead by example Be the primary point of contact for their area for a specified shift Interview and hire new employees as necessary Develop detailed training plans for new employees Quickly produce a production plan and stage personnel and materials for a quick start up Plan ahead to ensure a quick and smooth start Ensure a contingency plan is always ready to address issues as they arise Cross train the team to ensure depth at each position Lead the shift start meeting and communicate shift plans with the process technicians Take responsibility for the safety and discipline of the shift Responsible for the development of the assistant team leaders Be responsible for the organization and prioritization of the shift activities (including breaks and manning positions) Manage employee Paid Time Off requests (PTO) Work closely with the other team leaders, supervisors, engineers, managers, and the maintenance team Complete the pass down report for the shift Responsible for the escalation of issues to the area supervisor, other supervisors, engineers, managers, the safety manager, etc. Fill in as required for breaks or PTO coverage to continue operation of the line Ensure a smooth shift handover so that the next shift is properly prepared for a good start Lead the 5S effort during their shift and work closely with other team leaders and the area supervisor for 5S planning and execution QUALIFICATIONS Experience leading and planning in a manufacturing environment- required Works well under pressure- required Be a Senior Process Technician with a history of successful cross training and a high competency score, 15 (internal candidates required) Two non-family references that can be contacted for work performance history An excellent attendance record- required A history of reliability- required Excellent oral and written communication skills in English- required Past leadership experience- required A history of working well with supporting teams- other production teams, plant maintenance technicians and production engineers- required Experience with MS Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, Work, Power Point and One Note- required Experience creating shift or pass down reports- plus Experience interviewing and hiring new employees- plus Saint-Gobain provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
