Shift: Evening (2:00pm to 10:30pm)Charge Nurse (RN) responsibilities:

• Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
• Function as a team member with other staff in performance of duties.
• Manage medications, supplies, and equipment including ordering, receiving, storing, and disposing of all items in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Administer medications and/or treatments in accordance with physician's orders and monitors for effectiveness/response.
• Implement individual plan of care for resident and monitors staff providing care.
• Notify nurse manager, attending physician, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and takes follow up action as necessary.
• Order lab, x-ray, ambulance, and other services as necessary.
• Receive, transcribes, and carries out physician's orders.
• Participate in direct resident care as needed.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents according to procedures.
• Monitor nursing personnel on duty during the assigned shift.
• Perform additional tasks as requested. Charge Nurse (RN) skills and requirements:
  • Current MN Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
  • Must have strong nursing and leadership skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make sound decisions.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
