Agronomist Farmers Mill & Elevator, Inc is a family-owned business. We are looking for an agronomist to join our team and provide agronomic knowledge and leadership to our customers. Some aspects of the job include: Ensure accurate knowledge or reliable referrals to make recommendations to growers to achieve efficient crop productionSoil sample fields including multiple depth sampling, sampling by geo-reference and multiple site sampling in the event of changes in soil textureManage field trials, plant physiology and irrigation practicesScout customer fields for weed, insects, disease and nutrition issuesEnsure that application of seeding, fertility and pesticide occurs when weather conditions are optimalGather, compile, analyze and interpret test results and prepare progress reportsAnalyze crop claim issues as necessaryDocument field evaluation of seed, chemical, specialty products and fertilizersProvide agronomic training for staff responsible for sales and marketingAssist with agronomic budgeting and cost monitoringInteract with suppliers, applicators and agronomy laboratoriesRemain up to date on crop nutrition and protection technology
