Job Description
As a member of the Emergency Department team - you will care for patients and families in an acute setting utilizing advanced assessment and physical examination skills to provide high quality patient care services. You have access to imaging resources and full lab capabilities.
This position is full time and will work evenings and overnights in the Emergency Department. The shifts will be 12 to 16 hours, with rotation into every third weekend.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
To be eligible for this position you must meet one of the following requirements:

• Completion of a formal nurse practitioner or physician assistant program approved by a national accrediting agency required.
• Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or hold a current Minnesota Physician Assistant Licensure
• Certified by a national certification organization recognized by the State of Minnesota
• Current or pending licensure in the State of Minnesota
• Preferably having a minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a NP/PA, though open to new grads with relevant experience in work history background We would prefer that our candidate have previous experience as an Advanced Practice provider in one of the following areas:
  • Emergency Department
  • Urgent Care
  • Family Medicine
  • Walk-In Clinic In addition, all applicants must have a current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider card and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number prior to receiving clinical privileges. Additional certifications needed are ACLS, CALS or TNCC, and NRP. Can be obtained prior to employment.
    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Demonstrated skills in organizational management, leadership, communication and clinical expertise
    • Maintain CME requirements to maintain certification
    • Successful completion of medical staff office credentialing must be completed prior to working without a preceptor
    • Successful completion of third party payor credentialing must be completed prior to billing for services
      JOB SUMMARY: The APP provides direct, high quality patient care services requiring extensive skills and competency. The APP makes independent and collaborative health care decisions. The APP practices within the scope of practice as defined by certification/licensure standards and state and federal regulations. The Advanced Practice provider follows established protocols and collaborates with physicians, however, does have day-to-day independence in health care decisions.

      • Telestroke and STEMI activation with St. Cloud Hospital
      • Advanced imaging with 5 days/week MRI availability, 3D Mammography
      • Nitrous oxide for obstetrical and ED patients
      • Lactation consultants
      • Rehabilitation Services including Multidisciplinary Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
      • Transitional Care Team including a nursing supervisor, PT, OT, speech therapy and social worker
      • Outpatient Services including chemotherapy and IV infusions of fluids and medications CentraCare
