Our technology-enabled workforce solution provides instant access to a curated network of peer recovery specialists and recovery resources for individuals suffering from Substance Use Disorder while simultaneously streamlining and automating critical administrative functions to enable service expansion and increased accessibility. - -Position Summary: - The Twin Cities based Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists (CPRS) walk alongside individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders, providing peer support services to clients in the community. - -A CPRS brings the lived experience of recovery, combined with training and supervision, to assist others in initiating and maintaining recovery, helping to enhance the quality of personal and family life in long-term recovery (White, 2009). A CPRS focuses on long-term recovery and is rooted in a culture of hope, health, and wellness. The unique relationship between the CPRS and the individual seeking recovery is grounded in trust and focused on providing the individual with tools, resources, and support to achieve long-term recovery. - -This is an ideal opportunity for someone with CPRS experience to focus full-time on the mission to make recovery from Substance Use Disorder possible or anyone. - - -Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. - -

  • Perform a wide range of tasks to assist adult clients in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their recovery process. Kyros peers will provide peer recovery support services on a one-to-one and group basis to an individual in recovery. -
  • Provide many different types of recovery support, including emotional support (empathy and concern), informational support (connections to information and referrals to community resources that support health and wellness), instrumental support (concrete supports such as housing or employment) and affiliate support (connections to recovery community supports, activities, sponsored meetings, and events). -
  • Meet or exceed minimum required CPRS billable hours, which is 40 hours per week (averaging 37 hours per week+ with PTO and holidays accounted). - -
  • Other duties as assigned by peer supervisor or senior management. - -Additional skills and abilities include: -
    • Ability to support and assist in the transition from treatment into the recovery community. -
    • Motivational interviewing and active listening skills to further support their clients. -
    • Ability to understand and meet the needs of the patient through respectful, courteous, and caring interactions with patients, families, and other health professionals. -
      • Knowledge, understanding and adherence to organizational policy related to the patient's rights to confidential care. -
      • Active participation and positive, flexible, and cooperative involvement in a team effort to accomplish the goals of Kyros Recovery. -
      • Ability to work with health personnel and clients of varying ethnic backgrounds. -
      • Must be flexible and self-directed. -
      • Good communication skills, both verbal and written -
        • Knowledge of the recovery process and the ability to facilitate recovery using established standardized mental health processes. -
        • Knowledge and skill to teach and engage in basic problem-solving strategies to support individual clients in self-directed recovery. -
        • Knowledge of the signs and symptoms of mental illness and the ability to assist the client in addressing symptoms using strategies such as positive self-talk or accessing mental health services available. -
        • Knowledge and skill sufficient to use community resources necessary for independent living and the ability to teach those skills to other individuals. -
        • Time management skills and ability to prioritize task completion to meet deadlines. -

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - -Work Schedule: - -This is a full-time, standard business hours position and requires an employee to have a location in the Twin Cities to effectively serve the Minnesota marketplace. - - - - -Required Education, Experience & Other Qualifications: -
              • Minimum of 3 months of work experience as a Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS). - -
              • CPRS-R credential preferred, but not required. -
              • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Any college is a bonus! -
                • A commitment of 1 hour of supervision every 20 days. - -
                • Minimum of 18 years of age or older, as required by DHS. -
                • Current valid driver's license. - -
                • Self-declaration of criminal history. -
                • Self-declaration of recovery for 1 or longer. - -
                  • Clear results of a background check with findings that do not exclude applicant from working within healthcare, receiving Medicaid reimbursement for services and/or being a part of a CMS-compliant organization. - - -Language Ability: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. - -Mathematical Ability: Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs. - -Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. - -Computer Skills: -
                    • Effective and/or advanced use of software applications including Google Suite, MS Office including Excel, Electronic Health Records, Slack, etc. - -Certificates and Licenses: -
                      • This position must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License as well as have reliable transportation to commute onsite the Minnesota-based SUD Program for the standard work hours as described above. - - -Compliance Training (Employee will be provided with training upon hire) -The employee will be provided Compliance Training upon hire and from time to time throughout the duration of employment. The employee must complete all assigned Compliance Trainings. The employee should only access and use the minimum necessary protected health information in order to perform assigned duties. The company will ensure that EHR, telehealth and other tools and resources are HIPAA compliant. - The company makes reasonable efforts to limit employees' access to and use of protected health information (PHI) to the minimum necessary performance of assigned duties as outlined in job descriptions. HIPAA-compliant EHR and telehealth platforms are enabled. In order to meet compliance obligations and receive appropriate reimbursement for services provided, the company and employee must ensure that documentation meets these minimum compliance standards.
