M Health Fairview is looking for a Patient Care Supervisor to help lead the inpatient dialysis team!Our Dialysis Nursing team delivers direct clinical dialysis care to inpatient acute patients, hemodialysis patients, peritoneal dialysis patients and CRRT.The PCS will support both Adult Dialysis patients in the East Bank Campus and Pediatric Dialysis patients in the West Bank Campus in our University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. Responsibilities/Job Description:
The PCS:Partners with Manager/Director to supervise/lead day-to-day or shift-to-shift operations to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.Assists Manager/Director to plan, lead, coordinate and evaluate patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management. Prioritizes assignments to assure timely, productive, and efficient use of resources.Assists NM to lead equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.Collaborates with Nursing, Provider leadership and other partners to implement and evaluate standards of practice.Collects and analyzes quality data and applies process improvement methodology to insure deliver of safe and quality patient care.Assists with department change and acts a change agent in of system change, procedure change and process changes.Demonstrates skills/abilities in provision of patient careEnsures unit protocols, benchmarks, and hospital procedures are initiated appropriately. The PCS also:Assists the Manager/Director to develop, implement, supervise and evaluate the quality improvement initiatives. Assists with human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations. Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Advocates for patient, family and staff needs. Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience. Assists Manager/Director to ensure staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency. Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research. Additional Job Requirements:Round on inpatient boarders/chart reviews to ensure regulatory complianceResource clinically while working as charge nurse to provide additional support to unit staffMentor/train and develop new charge nursesEnsure unit is consistently in regulatory ready through rounding and completing regulatory checklistConduct night skills training/code SIMS (simulations) for staff in partnership with physician leadershipParticipate Safety Captain program to lead team focused on safety culture and principlesSafety Reviews with staff related to safety events in the departmentChart reviews: quality and safety to see opportunities to improve documentation for staff

Qualifications:
RequiredEducationBachelor's degree in Nursing. If Master's degree is in nursing or healthcare, Bachelor's degree in other area of study will be accepted.ExperienceThree years nursing experience, at least one of which in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. Knowledge of patient population served in area of responsibility.License/Certification/RegistrationLicensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.BLS certificationPreferredEducationMaster's degree in nursing, health care administration, business administration or related field.ExperienceLicense/Certification/RegistrationANCC or AONL Certification
