This position is one of 7 positions which provide "Adult
Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS)." This service or
function is defined in State Statute as providing skill building,
education and training to people experiencing serious mental
illness (adults with SMI) which are rehabilitative and enable the
recipient to develop and enhance psychiatric stability, social
competencies, personal and emotional adjustment, independent
living, parenting skills, and community skills, when these
abilities are impaired by the symptoms of mental illness. The
clinic is certified by the State of Minnesota to provide these
services to eligible participants. The scope of the work and the
requirements for supervision of the work is found in MN Statute and
in the MN Health Care Provider Manual published by the Department
of Human Services.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports to the ARMHS Program Manager who is a
licensed mental health professional.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PERCENTAGE FOR EACH FUNCTION:
1. Provide ARMHS services to adults with mental illness in their
home, at CUHCC or in other community settings that focus on basic
living, social skills training and community intervention.

a. Provide culturally competent ARMHS services utilizing Illness,
Management and Recovery (IMR) intervention protocols and other
evidenced based practices that promote recovery from illness and
improved functioning.
b. Prepare and complete mandated documentation within prescribed
timelines including intake assessments, functional assessments,
individual treatment plans, progress notes, safety assessments and
periodic evaluation.
c. Assist the client in arranging crisis assessment, intervention
and stabilization services, when needed.
d. Coordinate services with the client's other mental health
service providers, such as a case manager, upon consent of the
client.
e. Develop treatment plans and goals with the client seeking
services. Assess functioning impairments and strengths through the
functional assessment tool.
f. Offer individual and group interventions and meet weekly client
encounter targets.
g. Participate in clinical and administrative supervision of cases
through individual supervision, and participation in weekly team
meetings, trainings and field evaluation of care.
h. Meet mandated annual requirements for ongoing mental health
training.
i. Arrange for the recipient to access psychiatry and/or medical
care as outlined in their service plan, including assistance with
transportation. May act as interpreter for psychiatry, medical or
other mental health outpatient clinic service visits.
Qualifications
All required qualifications must be documented in application
materials. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Mental health practitioners providing services for the treatment
of mental illness, who are not eligible for enrollment, must be
under clinical supervision of a mental health professionalMust be
qualified in at least one of the following ways:
A. BA/BS in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields
including but not limited to social work, psychology, or nursing
from an accredited college or university AND: At least 2,000 hours
of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons
with mental illness OR is fluent in the non-English language group
of the ethnic groups CUHCC serves.
B. has at least 6,000 hours of supervised experience in the
delivery of services to persons with mental illness
C. is a graduate student in one of the behavioral sciences or
related fields and is formally assigned by an accredited college or
university to an agency or facility for clinical training or
D. holds a master's or other graduate degree in one of the
behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or
university and has less than 4,000 hours' post-master's experience
in the treatment of mental illness.
2. A valid Minnesota driver's license and access to a vehicle with
insurance coverage to make home and agency visits and transport
clients as needed.
In addition to the above criteria CUHCC requires:
* Fluency in written and spoken English
* Proven technical writing skills to meet Medicaid documentation
requirements
* Ability to utilize and complete all documentation processes in an
electronic billing and health record format
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience working with clients with mental illness
* Experience working in a community mental health clinic
* Experience providing community services (i.e. case
management)
* Language proficiency in one of CUHCC's dominant languages
(written and spoken) Somali, Hmong, or Spanish or other minority
cultural groups- Lao, Vietnamese, or Mandarin
* BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals are encouraged to apply
