Position description
This position is responsible for providing professional ophthalmic
care for all patients.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Graduate from an accredited ophthalmic assistant program.
Ability to take blood pressures.
Knowledge of types of examinations, diagnostic and treatment room
procedures.
Ability to maintain records and written reports.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working
relationships with patients, physicians, and other allied health
staff.
Additional qualifications
Preferred: Formal post high school college or training desired.
Completion of a home study course in Ophthalmic Assisting
desired.
Preferred: Previous experience in an eye clinic setting
helpful.
License or certification
JCAHPO COA certification.
Must have current CPR certification, or become certified within 30
days of employment.
