Job Description:
This Systems Engineer role will be responsible for creating and
documenting authorization strategies, policies and rules across a
wide portfolio of applications. You will utilize your systems
expertise and knowledge of data modeling, software and hardware to
design technical solutions within a service-oriented architecture.
You will partner with customers, business analysts, architects,
technology and project teams to understand business requirements,
drive the analysis and design of quality solutions and comply with
the organization's authorization standards. Responsibilities
- Engage in key projects to fully understand project goals and
requirements and use this knowledge to effectively plan and
implement the desired authorization outcomes.
- Evaluate interrelationships between design approaches to
resolve whether a change in one approach would impact or cause
undesirable results in related approaches.
- Actively participate in the data model review process to ensure
authorization work adheres to standards and project
specifications.
- Provide guidance to the development team through the full
delivery life cycle Create system & technical documentation to
ensure traceability.
- Maintain authorization document library. Partner with
Operations team to address incidents.
- Provide technical guidance to other resources as it relates to
projects and/or area of expertise.
- Manage authorization exception process and engage resource
owners as needed. Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent (4-years) in Computer Science,
Engineering, or related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience required.
- 5+ years of practical experience and proven success with the
design and operation of complex computing systems.
- System Administration experience, to include hardware and
network experience on Unix and/or Windows platforms.
- Broad technical knowledge across a majority, with deeper
knowledge in, the following: Web application development, software
engineering and/or testing, data analysis, networking, operation
systems (Linux, AIX, Solaris, Windows), storage (enterprise SAN,
NAS), Database (UDB, SQLServer, Oracle), and mainframe. Preferred
Qualifications
- Knowledge of access control and specifically, authorization
concepts
- Understanding of service-oriented design principles
- Data modeling expertise
- Demonstrated success working in a highly collaborative
environment with a strong ability to lead and influence
- Ability to take a 'from first principles' approach with less
familiar technologies
- Ability to quickly acquire knowledge and gain subject matter
