We strive to be the best.Our corporate HQ office in Plymouth, MN is looking for a Senior Communications Specialist. This role will support a range of external marketing communications activities to advance the Wealth Enhancement Group brand. The Senior Communications Specialist coordinates, writes and produces multimedia content and maximizes opportunities to share that content in the spirit of engagement with the general public. Superior storytelling and organizational abilities are required. This position is responsible for not only planning and creating high-quality content, but also working with others to ensure its distribution through various communication channels - traditional, interactive, social and emerging technologies.Job FunctionsProduce multimedia content for WEG's owned media platforms* Develop engaging topics, produce content outlines and curate questions for weekly "Your Money" radio show, Money Minutes radio segments, and Mid-Morning TV appearances.* Edit post-production content, secure compliance approval and upload to the Wealth Enhancement Group website; maintain online archives.* Manage creation of iterative content to maximize visibility (video snippets, social media posts, transcripts, etc.).* Coordinate talent and guest-talent's calendars to ensure scheduling requirements are met.* Partner with radio station affiliates to ensure timely delivery and smooth production of the "Your Money" radio show.* Stay abreast of emerging technologies and channels to innovate and extend national audience reach, including podcasting best practices and streaming media.* Monitor engagement with owned media content and continually optimize to improve effectiveness.Oversee third-party publishing strategy* Develop editorial calendar for biweekly and monthly articles that are published in regional and national media outlets and our blog.* Partner with key subject matter experts to research, write and/or edit all articles.* Analyze highest-performing content and work with digital marketing team to improve SEO results.* Coordinate creation of iterative content based on articles (infographics, videos, hard-copy reprints, collateral, etc.).* Maximize visibility of articles through owned social media channels and Intranet.Public & media relations* Serve as media contact for local media inquiries & assist department leadership with national media inquiries as needed.* Work collaboratively with department leadership on key message development and topic identification to support public relations efforts.* Manage Compliance approval of all public relations items.* Post PR wins to company website and intranet in a timely fashion.* Support local media outreach on behalf of Wealth Enhancement Group spokespersons in alignment with timely news events and/or an editorial calendar.Corporate social media management* Create content to support day-to-day posting to corporate social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Includes curating content from 3rd party and internal sources, working with marketing teams to promote campaigns, upcoming radio shows, media appearances, etc.* Manage content for various advisors' social media accounts to promote engagement with clients and influencers.* Stay informed of best practices regarding social media platforms and engagement.* Provide regular presentations strategy and results.Education/Skill Requirements* Bachelor's degree required, preferably in English, Journalism, Marketing or Communications.* Minimum 5 to 7 years in Marketing, Journalism or Marketing Communications required.* Strong writing and oral communication skills, including writing key messages, creating multimedia content, writing articles and letters that conform to prescribed style and format guidelines.* Experience in financial services industry and knowledge of wealth management services is strongly preferred.* Writing samples required: print/radio/web/podcast ad copy, long-form articles, website copy, collateral copy, social media copy, etc.* Must be willing to collaborate on content creation and view being edited as an opportunity to learn through constructive feedback.* Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, especially Word and PowerPoint. Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite (especially Audition) and Salesforce is a plus.* Experience making a business case for a new strategy, approach, or recommendation preferred.* Must be self-motivated and independent, well-organized, able to work with a minimum of supervision* Willingness to collaborate with others* Works well with all management levels within the company* Willing to follow established processes will looking for opportunities to improve themADA Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
