About the position:

The Support Manager is tasked with motivating and managing a team of Payroll Tax Analysts to deliver quality-based, client-focused support.The central focus of this role will be managing the day-to-day operations of the team functions, managing the personnel, and working to ensure we maintain an effective, efficient, and measurable operation.This role will also be engaged in managing client escalations and relationships as necessary.

The ideal candidate is highly energetic, passionate about customer support, and thrives in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure team adherence to performance goals, and monitoring of KPI's
  • Deliver to Customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Champion data-driven decision making, and actively collaborate with business partners to deliver business insights, improvement recommendations, and compliance adherence
  • Drive process improvements and develop strategies to continually enhance the quality and efficiency of the team, including the use of appropriate support systems and tools
  • Mentor employees and establish best practices for troubleshooting, communication, and timely incident resolution
  • Responsible for all personnel management, including hiring, employee development, coaching, and performance management
  • Facilitate career growth discussions and implement effective recognition programs
  • Devise and execute action plans for improving and maintain high employee engagement levels
  • Produce and provide regular and ad-hoc reporting to key stakeholders relative to metrics pertaining to work volumes, services levels, quality outcomes, trends, etc.
  • Investigate and implement industry best practices and processes
  • Continually advocates for customers, Managed Services, and finding new ways to add value to the Client Experience

Educational/Skill/Experience requirements:

Minimum requirements:

  • 3+ years of support experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role
  • 5+ years of US payroll & payroll taxation, with multi-state and multi-company experience preferred
  • Prior experience managing or leading a large team of personnel in multiple locations
  • Critical thinker with ability to understand large, complex processes and background in process improvement, and/or Payroll or HRIS
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Must be able to build effective working relationships with dynamic, professional teams
  • Superior analytical, problem solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven experience in change management and business process documentation
  • Mastery of common human capital management (HCM) business practices
  • Intermediate/Advanced skills in MS Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Office 365
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be viewed credibly as a positive influencer of change

Preferred requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or technology discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in Payroll, Payroll Taxation, or HRIS
  • CPP certification a plus
