Job Description:

  1. Job Summary:

The Learning and Development Coordinator is a full-time, temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent in the future. This position is responsible for creating, tracking, and auditing training content using the Learning Management Systems, facilitating various trainings, safety and certification onboarding & maintenance, and coordinating trainings through both YMCA of the North and through YUSA.

  1. Essential Functions:
  • Maintain, track and audit all team member trainings and certifications using the Learning Management Systems
  • Assist in developing new curriculum, associated training materials and performance support tools based on organizational needs.
  • Coordinate Basic Life Support, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen Administration trainings for new and current team members for the purpose of certification and recertification
  • Co-facilitate classroom and computer lab trainings using a blended learning format for YMCA team members and community members as needed
  • Coordinate YUSA and YMCA of the North training classes which may include creating schedules, processing registrations and reporting on attendance
  • Maintain functionality of Learning Management Systems for all team members by working with team members, working on project teams and working with third party vendors
  1. Relationships:

This position reports to the Learning and Development Manager. The incumbent works with the talent team, branch management team, leadership team and other Association staff and is a valued member of the People & Culture team.

  1. Qualifications:

Required

  • An active personal commitment to exhibiting anti-racist, anti-oppressive behaviors at all times
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in administrative or related field
  • Excellent facilitation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to individually lead a project
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
  • Ability to set up, move and store class equipment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various cross-functional groups to achieve a desired result
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing tasks and demands
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross culturally

Preferred

  • Multilingual
  • Current CPR/First Aid Trainer
  • Previous experiences with In2vate or Kronos Workforce Ready platforms a plus
  1. Work Conditions:
  • Ability to travel locally to visit location sites, attend meetings and trainings with a flexible work schedule, which may infrequently include events on evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time

The incumbent is also responsible for taking direction from the Executive Vice President of People and Culture or their representatives in completing projects or performing duties deemed necessary for the Branch or Association success.
