Bring along your passion and do your life's best work.(sm) The Strategic Account Executive drives retention and growth through development of account strategies and business relationships with our strategic and/or large clients under the Consumer Businesses segment. As the Strategic Account Executive, your role is focused on delivering best-in-class service to our clients, supporting benefit plans, and managing client relationships. The ability to proactively identify client's needs and establish proactive plans will be key in this role. Relationship development both internal and with the client's key stakeholders, will be necessary to ensure client satisfaction. This position requires a high-performing individual with proven communication skills, strong critical thinking skills and an ability to lead complex client engagement strategies. Manages ongoing contract relationships and service delivery to clients for one or more accounts. Acts as outward - facing, dedicated resource for assigned accounts, typically with direct client contact for large or complex accounts. Builds relationships with clients (not individual members) and serves as a point of contact for overall service delivery. Represents client internally and coordinates with other functions to implement client systems, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs. Jobs in this function may work closely with sales on renewals but incumbents do not have specific sales goal accountability or primary responsibility to close sales. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: * Accountable for client satisfaction, retention, and growth * Cultivate the client's perception of OptumRx as a trusted partner and strategic advisor (e.g., build credibility, demonstrate full understanding of their business, leverage other resources within OptumRx) * Maintain an ongoing knowledge of client's business, benefits, and contract with OptumRx * Manage all applicable contractual performance metrics established for the team/client/business plan, contractual requirements, financial targets, Performance Guarantees and revenue generating opportunities where appropriate * Work with operational areas to ensure their understanding of client's contractual requirements and goals * Manage customer conversations appropriately, including providing guidance on communication to client (e.g., provide a good first impression, command attention and respect, maintain professional tone, demonstrate confidence, de-escalate/defuse situations as needed) * Ability to drive client renewal process end to end including successful presentation of business cases for internal funding approval/ pricing approvals where appropriate * Develop strategy for formal client meetings (ex: quarterly reviews) and drive execution with both internal partners and clients as needed * Stay current and independently access a variety of sources to acquire and maintain knowledge of the market, industry, and legislation (e.g., industry publications, conferences/events, online resources, internal resources) * Participate in new sales opportunities as needed * Meet or exceed departmental business goals * Other duties as assigned You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree or higher or equivalent years of work experience * 5+ years of account management experience (delivery, growth, retention, referrals) * Advanced knowledge of MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote) * 3+ years PBM experience * Travel required up to 25% of the time Preferred Qualifications: * Project management skills * Strong ability to lead complex client engagement, including managing overall service delivery, strategy, plan design, renewal, and benchmarking * Superior communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, management and client vendor associates * Strong critical thinking, analytical problem-solving and strategic planning skills * Self-motivated to achieve set goals * Strong business and financial acumen * Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced demanding work environment * High degree of client focus and attention to excellent service Careers with OptumRx.
