Summary: Safely deliver freight to and from various locations
within the company and perform product deliveries to external
customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Safely operate a
tractor trailer to shuttle freight to various internal locations as
well as perform customer deliveries and assist with
loading/unloading perishable plant material. Routes will be local
with no regular overnight routes. All routes are expected to be
completed safely in accordance with company policy and DOT
regulations. Perform required safety checks {pre/post trip)
inspections of equipment according to Department of Transportation
regulations, meeting company safety standards and take appropriate
action as needed. Reporting all safety issues and/or repairs
required to appropriate personnel. Ensures all shipping
documentation is available for DOT inspection and appropriate
paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point. Assist in
loading/unloading freight when needed and ensuring all freight is
properly always secured. Present a professional appearance and
display good customer service when communicating and interacting
with customers. Will be expected to do other work when not driving.
Required Qualifications: Valid CDL Class A license. Minimum 1 year
experience driving tractor trailer. Experience with manual
transmissions. Must pass background check, drug test, and have a
clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR). Must have or obtain valid medical
card before hire. Ability to operate or willingness to learn to
operate a lift truck/forklift. Ability to read and speak English
sufficiently enough to converse with customer. Physical
Requirements and Work Environment: Ability to lift/push/pull 60
lbs. on a regular basis. Ability to work 40 or more hours per week,
with extended hours required during peak season and a willingness
to work in adverse weather conditions. Including some weekend work
at peak season.
