Job Description:
US Foods, a leading foodservice distributor in America, is
seeking an experienced Manager of Transportation & Logistics to
oversee our distribution operations. This role is pivotal in
ensuring efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of
approximately 350,000 products, including premium private label
items, to our extensive network of restaurants and foodservice
operators. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our
transportation and logistics operations, optimizing routes and
processes, and leading a dedicated team to uphold the highest
standards of service and compliance. Manage daily operations of the
transportation and logistics department. Develop and optimize
logistical processes and implement cost-effective solutions. Ensure
compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning
transportation and safety. Lead, train, and evaluate a team of
logistics personnel. Coordinate with other departments to ensure
timely delivery and inventory accuracy. Analyze and report on
logistics performance and costs. Negotiate contracts with carriers,
warehouses, and other logistic service providers. Strong leadership
and decision-making skills Expertise in logistics software and
databases Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to
manage and direct a logistics team Experience in budget management
and cost optimization Problem-solving abilities and proactive
thinking Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
preferred Certification from the American Society of Transportation
and Logistics (ASTL)
