With BAE Systems, you will be able to make an impact while you hone your skills and grow in your career.BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking highly motivated and driven Software Engineering Interns for Summer 2024 to work with a talented team supporting the development, test, integration, and verification of modern combat platforms. This is a hands-on position for software/systems integration and test of complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems in both software labs and on tactical military vehicles.This internship is located at our Combat Missions Systems facility in Fridley, MN. You will work a full-time, 40 hours/week on a 9/80 schedule that allows every other Friday off. Opportunities may be available to continue working part-time during the academic year.As a team member, your daily tasks may include:

  • Develop and execute test cases, test scripts, test plans, and test scenarios for all applicable requirements for new software releases in software lab environment and on tactical vehicle
  • Ensure technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that all technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met
  • Perform non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of test and tactical systems
  • Perform root cause and corrective action investigation of issues
  • Prepare test reports summarizing test results including anomalies, systems errors, and configuration changesOur goal is to provide opportunity to grow past the academic realm of knowledge.     • Pursuing a degree in a STEM discipline (Preferred: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics
    • Current Junior/Senior standing for Fall 2024
    • Programming experience in one of the following: C, C++, C#, Java, Ada, Python
    • Basis knowledge of software development fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures
    • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
      • Hands-on experience with integration of complex electronic systems
      • Experience with software development environments, version control, and issue tracking tools
      • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems
      • Experience with multiple protocols: J1939, CAN, Ethernet, 1553
      • Experience with hands-on troubleshooting using test equipment, CAN bus analysis tools, Ethernet network analysis tools, data acquisition systems
      • Cybersecurity Certification: Security+, CSSLP, CISSP
      • Military experience is highly valuedPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $48620 - $65670Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan.
