Company is seeking a Vice President, Human Resources to serve as the HR strategic business partner with the senior leadership team for the strategic and operational success of the designated business unit(s). Leads business unit-wide HR programs and initiatives to align with operational performance objectives. Facilitates, manages and leads change, proactively assesses business needs and collaboratively develops solutions. Serves as a consultant to senior leadership on human capital related matters, which may include culture, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent acquisition and development, employee engagement and retention.
The VP, Human Resources reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
Responsibilities Include: Drives the culture through the mission, core values, expected behaviors and customer service principles. Facilitates, manages and leads change for organizational alignment at the senior level. Develops and executes innovative programs that drive business performance improvements and desired outcomes in collaboration with senior leadership and the HR Leadership Team. Understands conditions and trends in the business and effectively envisions, develops, and implements new strategies to address competitive, complex current and future business issues. Serves as a trusted advisor to guide business decisions and is sought out for his/her perspective in people-related decisions. Works closely with senior management to improve employee work relationships, engagement, retention and performance. Partners with the Talent Acquisition COE to monitor effectiveness of recruitment and staffing programs for the assigned business units. Identifies workforce planning issues and partners with Talent Management to address these issues with focused solutions. Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, and succession / replacement management at the senior level. Identifies professional development needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs. Ensures business units have appropriate talent pipeline. Identifies leadership development needs and contributes to solutions to improve the capability of leaders to lead and manage their employees to achieve desired outcomes. Supports senior leaders with the development of employee performance improvement plans, and career development plans through effective coaching, mentoring and training activities. Supports Business in the identification and development of employees for key leadership and management positions with the implementation of succession planning. Partners with Total Rewards to ensure proper job definition and application of competitive pay / rewards programs. Identifies opportunities to improve / address compensation distribution. Partners with Shared Services to effectively utilize employee / employment data and analytics for objective decision making, and for the development of programs and initiatives to improve results. Develops business unit HR budget consistent with the strategic plan and overall Company budget. 'Additional Responsibilities: Maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business units’ financial position, business plans, its culture and its competition to be an effective business partner. Monitors analytics and evaluates effectiveness of HR practices. Leads consultation analysis for due diligence for acquisitions. Manages the integration of acquired employees. Carries out leadership and management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and ensures compliance with applicable state and federal laws. Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS degree in business, human resources management or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in senior HR business partner role or similar role. 5 years demonstrated management or high-level individual contributor experience in a Human Resources discipline. Comprehensive knowledge of human resource practices. Ability to successfully manage all tasks and activities across business lines as well as with external partners. Demonstrated experience in driving change and leading initiatives. Strong leader with the ability to work with and influence others effectively at the executive level and cross-functionally Leads human resource staff ensuring development of functional thought leaders and ample bench strength. Maintains HR staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees Maintains HR staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
