The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation - (MHIF) is seeking
an HR Generalist looking to make a difference in their

purpose.The Human Resources Generalist is an integral member of the
organization serving as a conduit to the MHIF team and enabling
their success. In this hands-on and versatile role, the Generalist
utilizes their understanding of a great employee experience in
recruiting and onboarding while utilizing detail skills for
benefits, Human Resource Information System (HRIS) administration
and payroll interface responsibilities. With a keen sense of
urgency and prioritization, the HR Generalist supports MHIF's
award-winning organizational culture, approaching the role in a
solutions and service-oriented manner, working closely with
managers and staff. This is an excellent position for someone

Responsibilities
- Enables a quality and timely recruitment process by posting
positions, reviewing applicants, screening, and interviewing
candidates and conducting reference checks. The HR Generalist
determines ways to actively and creatively source candidates.
- Prepares orientation materials to ensure a positive start for
new employees and conducts employee benefits orientation sessions.
Works with managers and other staff to foster an excellent new hire
experience.
- Collaborates with HR team members to identify and prepare
proactive staff communication to keep others informed and equipped
with needed information. Answers questions from applicants and
employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring
processes, etc.
- Assists with various employee engagement programs, helping to
coordinate All Staff meetings and the monthly employee recognition
program, and actively assisting with the Wellness Committee
- Maintains the human resources information system (HRIS) for
accurate and consistent recordkeeping, personnel transactions, and
smooth interface with payroll.
- Ensures HR record keeping, maintaining accurate and up to date
e-files, records, and documentation. Contributes to special
projects e.g., HR process improvements
- Responsible for benefits administration (medical insurance,
dental insurance, 401(k), LTD/AD&D, life insurance, leaves of
absence, tuition reimbursement, PTO) including enrollment with
vendors, reviewing invoices, and communicating benefits information
to employees
- Updates organizational reports such as dashboards, headcount
reports, organizational charts, and other information and tools.
Assists in annual compliance reporting and labor postings.
- Participates in many other ways to enable the success of MHIF
talent including workspace logistics, ergonomics, intern
coordination, emergency alert lists, and more. Relationships: This
position reports to the Sr. HR Generalist with oversight and
collaboration with the Chief Talent, Education and Strategy
Officer. The HR Generalist interacts with MHIF team members and
managers, international physicians, interns, and physician
partners.As a high-touch, employee experience role, this position
works mostly onsite. Qualifications
- College degree in related field preferred.
- At least two years' experience in HR, with knowledge of
employment laws and experience in recruitment, benefits
administration, HRIS and payroll interface, with direct employee
interaction.
- Solid office organizational and technology skills required.

skills
- Works well in a busy environment with varied tasks and staff
interaction, always with integrity, professionalism, and
confidentiality. Highly approachable, with a high EQ. Has
demonstrated multi-cultural competence.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint.
- Organized and highly detail-oriented, with the ability to
prioritize and keep varied tasks and projects moving
simultaneously. Excellent, timely follow up with others. An active
problem solver.
- Evidence of being a continuous learner, interested in improving
processes and programs for the betterment of the team/organization.
