The SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring the SMT machines are running correctly and efficiently with accurate component placements.

Job Responsibilities

+ Collect appropriate bin from scheduled job order.

+ Perform set-up from machine technician.

+ Start job run on the machine.

+ Locate, troubleshoot, and document errors when they occur.

+ Setup loader machine.

+ Also handling lead-related material.

+ Set up MPM (screen printer).

+ Set up CP6 and locate and identify if errors occur and alert SMT Technician.

+ Locate and start oven (Heller 1700).

+ Complete FAI (First Article of Inspection) to ensure all components are in the correct location and are the correct part #.

+ Participate in continuous process improvement.

+ Recommend changes to and participate in the review of manufacturing procedures.

+ Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to your team-lead or supervisor.

Basic Qualifications

+ 2-3 years SMT machine operator experience in electronic manufacturing.

+ Knowledge of soldering paste, electrical components, and technical fundamentals.

+ Basic math and computer skills.

+ Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

+ Quality inspection experience.

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to work in a team environment.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

+ Strong attention to detail.

+ Good eye/hand coordination.

+ Basic mechanical aptitude.

+ Good manual dexterity.

+ Willing to cross-train in other areas.

+ Results driven.

+ Ability to read and understand basic work instructions and identify packing specifications.

+ Ability to read, speak, and write fluent English.

Preferred Qualifications

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ 1-2 years feeder setup.

+ Understanding of polarity, orientation, and IPC 610 standards.

+ Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness, and quality system awareness.

Hourly Employee Work Shifts

Depending on the assignment, the facility works both a 4-day work week and a 5-day workweek. Most jobs provide service and support to a specific shift, although some jobs provide support across both shifts. Our shift schedules are:


5:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, overtime is required including Fridays.


3:30 p.m. - 2:00 a.m., Monday - Thursday, overtime is required including Fridays.
