II. Job Summary:This position is responsible for overseeing the functions of the Furnish Office and Home retail store, including maintenance of existing donors, retail marketing, retail sales, donations, merchandising, customer service, and supervision of staff and trainees. III. Core Job Functions:The Store Manager performs a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following:Recruit, hire, lead and support a diverse team of qualified, competent staff by providing effective training & supervision that encourages continued professional development and ensures delivery of quality services to customers and participants and continuous progress toward meeting business, program and agency goals.Select, hire, and supervise program participants, and provide, in conjunction with other staff, coaching and guidance needed to develop appropriate work habitats needed to successfully complete their training program and acquire their next job. Manage the operation's financial performance and partner with the Executive Vice President and Vice President of Finance and Administration to develop the annual budget. Coordinate the acquisition of furniture and other merchandise from the core donor baseDevelop and oversee all inventory management activitiesIn partnership with EMERGE Communications & Marketing staff, develop marketing and advertising activities targeted to the customers Ensure that retail customers and donors receive excellent serviceManage the facility and all related systems and processesCollaborates with leadership within Emerge and, in particular, its Second Chance Recycling business to strategize, develop and execute expansion plans. Perform any other tasks and duties necessary in order for the agency to meet its mission. IV. Position Requirements: Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in business, retail management or related field preferred or an equivalent combination of relevant post-secondary education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of retail management experience. Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesAbility to work effectively in a mission-driven agency whose clients and staff reflect significant diversity with respect to race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, socio-economic status, nationality and religion.Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Ability to travel within the metro area.Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with agency managers and leaders to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.Ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization. V. Working Conditions and Environment: Workplace is a 25,000 square foot office furniture retail and warehouse space that is accessible and smoke-free. Work may include local travel. Current store hours are 9 am - 6 pm Tuesday - Friday and Saturday 9 am - 5 pm. Actual work hours will likely vary based on business needs.
