Job Description Integrated Healthcare Services is seeking a
travel Physical Therapist Level I for a travel job in Saint Paul,
Minnesota. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Physical
Therapist - Discipline: Therapy - Duration: 24 weeks - 40 hours per
week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Therapist I,
II, and III Provides direct and indirect family centered therapy
services for patients to increase functional abilities,
independence and community integration. Contributes to department,
program and service teams to assure achievement of desired
outcomes. Specific duties are determined by the work setting or
patient population served; however, in all positions, serving
patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a
concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly
coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition
which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments
to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating
efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for
high functioning integrated teams, consistent with our Gillette
CARES expectations. Therapist I, II, and III • Requires specialty
knowledge in human growth and development and multiple
rehabilitation and habilitation program and service areas. •
Effective team functioning requires working with a wide variety of
disciplines at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, the
patient and family, community education and medical professionals,
representative of public and private providers, interpreters,
advocates and payers. • Providing on-going comprehensive education,
guidance and support for patient, family, and community. Essential
tasks may include but are not limited to: Completes an evaluation
utilizing principles of family-centered care. • Designs assessment
consistent with goals of evaluation, provider order, patient /
family input and priorities. • Obtains necessary history and
background information. • Selects evaluation methods, tools, and
environment to obtain valid and reliable assessment specific to the
patient’s age and developmental, neurological, musculoskeletal,
cardiopulmonary, cognitive and behavioral status. • Administers
evaluation consistent with best practices and Gillette
competencies. • Interprets evaluation for to the patient / family
and seeks their assessment of the evaluation’s reliability and
validity. • Makes recommendations for treatment, referrals,
equipment, resources and home and community based activities. •
Documents and bills for evaluation based on education and
guidelines provided by the Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare
Rehabilitation Therapies Revenue Cycle Team. • Excellent customer
service skills • PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE/REGISTRATION o Physical
Therapy State License o Pending credentials: Registration and
Licensure pending, not to exceed three months in this status for PT
• Current certification in CPR (BLS for Healthcare Providers
through American Heart Association) or must obtain certification
within 90-days of hire. • Knowledge, skills, abilities: o Knowledge
of child growth and development, rehabilitation theory and practice
with a wide variety of childhood onset diagnoses and related
considerations including anatomy and neurology, emotional behavior
factors, family needs and issues, community transition and
equipment. o Effective verbal and written communication o Ability
to function as an effective team member o Competency in physical
therapy evaluation, treatment and related family/community
education and planning for transition to community services.
Preferred: • Knowledge: transition from pediatric to adult health
and rehabilitation care and of rehabilitation practice for adults
with Childhood onset disabilities. • Pediatric experience strongly
preferred in Burnsville, Minnetonka, Maple Grove and St. Paul;
desirable at Phalen Adult Clinic. Experience working with adults
with childhood onset disabilities strongly preferred at Phalen
Adult; desirable in Burnsville, Minnetonka, Maple Grove and St.
Paul. QUALIFICATION/LICENSURE Work Authorization : US Citizen
