Responsible for safe and efficient medication distribution and monitoring of patient drug therapy. Must supervise pharmacy staff and be able to effectively communicate with providers, nurses, patients, and other staff members.



Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
Education: Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree preferred.
Training: Registered Pharmacist (RPh) licensure in the state of Minnesota required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred. American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency or equivalent major healthcare experience preferred.
Special Skills: Ability to distinguish between medications is required. Ability to differentiate between sound-alike, look-alike drugs and to identify differences between drug labeling and intravenous (IV) solution coloring required.

License or Certification

License to practice Pharmacy in the State of Minnesota or eligibility for licensure.
APhA's Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery training program certification or a similar accredited course preferred.
