As the Pharmacy Technician Lead - Specialty
As the Pharmacy Technician Lead - Specialty, you will support the pharmacist in ensuring the maintenance of efficient specialty pharmacy operations, customer satisfaction and loyalty, business development, and regulatory compliance. You will also work in all areas of the department which includes, processing prescriptions, assisting with recordkeeping, stocking, and maintain product inventory. You will also assist the Pharmacy Manager with writing schedules, maintaining time records, and leading the pharmacy team through training, coaching and mentorship. In this role, you will positively impact the lives and health of others by ensuring all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for patients while providing a remarkable experience that exceeds their expectations.
Additional Duties Include:
Operations:

• Accurate and efficient prescription processing, including but not limited to new and refill orders, insurance adjudication, e-Rx, and DUR flags.
• Accurate and efficient prescription dispensing of high-dollar specialty prescriptions, including but not limited to selection of appropriate drug product, counting or measuring sufficient quantity, and labeling prescription bottles, containers, and packaging correctly, neatly, and in an organized manner compliant with company policies.
• Effectively manage product inventory levels consistent with department goals and customer demand; including accurate tracking of quantities on hand, set and maintain order points, generate and receive/edit and stock orders, and manage returns, out of stocks, shortages and expired items. Patient/Clinical Management
  • Proactively reaches out to patients during the time of refills.
  • Drive increased utilization of clinical management programs by enrolling and following patients.
  • Determine eligibility and enroll patients in patient assistance programs such as Patient Access Network, Chronic Disease Funds, etc. and perform all required reporting and documentation.
  • Maintain compliance of patient management through appropriate documentation systems.
  • Assist to ensure full compliance of policies including billing and submitting claims to government sponsored insurance programs, including Medicaid, Medicare, all 3rd party payers as well as facilitating prior authorizations on behalf of the providers. Guest Focus:
    • Provide remarkable service to our guests. Ensure guests are provided a unique experience that anticipates their needs and exceeds their expectations, which includes but is not limited to greeting, offering assistance and support, proactively share product knowledge about medications and OTC products, recommend additional products that complements purchased items, and thanking them for shopping with us.
    • Answer phones cheerfully, professionally, and timely to accurately collect all necessary information from patients, providers and vendors and, if needed, triage calls appropriately.
    • Promptly and respectfully respond to guests concerns and elevate to supervisor as needed.
    • Teamwork & Relationship Building:
    • Effectively build and maintain professional relationships with third party partners, providers, and suppliers to support business growth.
    • Provide training, coaching and mentorship to the pharmacy team which includes training and onboarding of new pharmacy team members. Interact with the Pharmacy Manager about schedules, reviews, performance evaluations, and as needed, conduct or assist with providing feedback for employee performance reviews.
    • Work closely with all pharmacy staff to achieve department, store, and company initiatives and in support of strategic goals.
    • Collaborate effectively to engage with others to create a fun and inviting environment that supports a culture of belonging, builds trusting relationships, inspires positive conversations and drives innovation. Other Duties Include:
      • Manage Medicare Part B, Medicaid supplies, DME and related insurance billing.
      • Perform accounts receivable (A/R) tasks necessary to maintain private accounts within pharmacy software, reduce A/R aging and maximize collections.
      • Perform CTO/Invoice duties and manage invoices and data entry for accounts payable.
      • Participate in assigned special project work, attend department, store and company meetings in an effort to become the "Greatest Place to Work" and achieve the objectives of the Company.
      • Perform other duties within the Pharmacy Department or other areas of the company as assigned by management.
      • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
