a mission to advance medicine. Faculty Physician - Pulmonary,
Critical Care (Assistant Professor - Academic or Clinician Track)
The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy,
Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PACCS) seeks an Assistant
Professor faculty on the Academic Clinical or Academic Track
Position Highlights:
- The clinician scholar faculty member will devote 85% of their
effort to clinical activities.
- The clinical effort predominately will be at the and in
Minneapolis.
- May include critical care at other M Health Fairview Hospitals
(Southdale in Edina, MN and Ridges in Burnsville, MN) and
potentially some outreach pulmonary clinics.
- Provide high quality pulmonary and critical care medicine
service to patients.
- Participate actively and contribute to PACCS Division and
Department of Medicine academic and clinical programs, particularly
in the management of complex chronic lung disease.
- Working with other faculty, develop an individual area of
expertise, scholarship and recognition, with an expectation to
submit at least one manuscript per year, serving as first or senor
author.
- The person in this position will be encouraged to include
trainees in their academic program.
- Participate in multi-investigator studies and grants related to
interventional pulmonary, general pulmonary and/or critical
care.
- Participate in the Division's clinical and research
conferences, Fellow's Journal Club and core curriculum lectures and
teaching of students, residents and fellows will be expected.
- This position is ideal for recently-trained, clinically adept
pulmonologist-intensivists who are interested in building an
academic program that promotes high quality care and associated
scholarship while interacting with colleagues and developing
creative research and/or educational programs. About the Division:
The Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep (PACCS) Division
includes more than 80 UMN faculty based at four principal hospital
sites. We proudly feature nationally recognized programs and
leaders in Interstitial Lung Disease, COPD, Lung Transplantation,
Critical Care Medicine (Respiratory Failure & ARDS), Cystic
Fibrosis, Interventional Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. We aim to
find new treatments and cures for diseases in these areas through
basic, clinical and 'big data' research, while working to prevent
respiratory illness. We partner with faculty across the University
and colleagues in the community in our research, clinical,
education and training efforts. Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME internal medicine residency and
pulmonary and critical care fellowship-training program.
- Board eligible/certified in internal medicine and pulmonary and
critical care.
- Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the
State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for
credentialing and privileges.
- Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from
the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal
status according to the requirements of the VISA. Preferred
Qualifications:
- Candidates with experience in leading and support of science
research and a publication track record of successful research.
