difference in the lives of others!ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical
Operations Manager actively leads the daily operations of a complex
care specialty clinic requiring advanced clinic leadership skills.
They will coach and engage all staff and other management while
modeling expected behaviors and holding staff accountable. This
role will manage performance to improve quality of patient cares
and service as well as employee and provider satisfaction. They
will develop and handle the department budget with assistance from
the Medical Director and Service Line Director; assuring efficient
and effective patient care operations. The Manager will assure team
success by implementing proactive decision-making and provide
leadership/clinical direction for reporting to individual. As a
working APP leader this position will maintain a clinical practice
within the department to provide guidance and training to newer APP
team members.
- Leads staff and daily operations by directly observing staff
and clinic processes, using those observations to train staff,
drive accountability and recognize opportunities for improvement
through advising clinic and patient care supervisors.
- Creates a positive work culture by hiring, staffing, providing
feedback, assigning promotions, delegating work, rewarding
performance, providing work direction, training, reviewing
performance, succession planning, handling grievances/performance
plans/suspensions, and recognizing expected performance.
- Creates direct reports work schedules, considering patient
needs, staffing requirements, and policies/procedures.
- Assesses professional development needs of staff and develops
annual in-service training programs
- Actively runs clinic operations and is available to staff
- Shadows patients, providers, and staff as a way to provide
on-the-job coaching and training.As the major interface between
staff and management in the clinics, proactively identifies
barriers to achievement of clinical outcome measures and partners
with Medical Directors to develop improvement plans.
- Implements plans that will improve employee satisfaction and
productivity.
- Develops communication systems to deliver information, obtain
feedback and allow input from all partners in decision making.
- Collaborates with key collaborators in other locations to plan
and promote strategies that enhance and improve clinic
servicesDirectly manages staff to improve the quality of health
care and increase patient centered care.
- Participates proactively in resolving patient issues by
removing obstacles, resolving bottle necks and providing prompt,
personalized patient care.
- Empowers staff to resolve patient concerns and provide prompt,
personalized remediation.Implements, & evaluates participation in
the planning and documentation of patient care according to
departmental policy and procedures.Develops, implements, and
evaluates site policies, procedures, goals, and objectives with
appropriate input from staff.Oversees the implementation of
approved plans and budget as they relate to clinical services.
- Develops clinic budget, taking into consideration patient
volume increases or decreases and provider fluctuations.
- Identifies and implements strategies to achieve high levels of
efficiency.QualificationsRequired
- Advanced Practice Degree (PA or NP)
- Three plus years clinical healthcare management/supervisory
experience in complex settings.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams of
professionals.
- Basic understanding of budget process.
- Demonstrated success in process improvement, operational
management, and team building.
- Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in the
State of Minnesota.Preferred
- Proven clinical management experience in an academic ambulatory
care setting.
