The Behavioral Health area of Health and Human Services is seeking a Social Work Unit Supervisor to join the Adult Case Management Team. Behavioral Health is an innovative service area continuously seeking ways to improve access to mental health and substance use disorder services for Hennepin County residents. This position will supervise an interdisciplinary team that provides Targeted Case Management services for adults (18+) who have been court-ordered for treatment through the civil commitment process.Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at The Behavioral Health and Wellness Center at 1800 Chicago Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55404, and remote with occasional needs for in-community or on-site supervision. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with flexibility. Evening hours may occasionally be required.About this position type:This is a full-time, benefit earning position.Effective September 1, 2021, all new job offers are conditional based on the candidate being fully vaccinated for COVID-19. "Fully vaccinated" means 14 days after receiving the second dose in a two-dose vaccination series approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on a full or emergency-use basis, or 14 days after receiving a single-dose vaccine approved by the FDA on a full or emergency-use basis. After a conditional job offer is made, the candidate must show proof of full vaccination prior to their start date. A COVID-19 vaccination card from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a vaccination record from your doctor's office or a personal digital vaccination record constitutes sufficient "proof." The candidate must also attest they are vaccinated by completing a form on the first day of employment. Reasonable accommodations to this vaccination requirement will be considered upon request by a candidate for medical or religious reasons as required by applicable law.In this position, you will:

  • Provide clinical and group supervision to an interdisciplinary team.
  • Establish and maintain standards for customer service and quality work through coaching, training, and evaluating performance of staff.
  • Utilize county databases, quality assurance tools, and other spreadsheets to maintain quality services within the unit.
  • Monitor the performance for adherence to all administrative requirements of case management.
  • Participate in agency training and management meetings.
  • Promote and maintain a work environment where all employees and customers are treated respectfully.
  • Create, promote, and maintain a work environment where the value of diversity and inclusion is understood and practiced.Need to have:
    • One of the following:
      • Master's degree or higher in social work or closely related field (or licensed as a graduate social worker by the Minnesota Board of Social Work) and three or more years of experience as a social worker.
      • Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, sociology, or human services, and 27 or more quarter credits of graduate work in areas such as social work methods, human growth and behavior, and/or principles of social welfare, and four or more years of supervised experience as a social worker.
      • Six or more years of experience as a Senior/Psychiatric/Child Protection Social Worker at Hennepin County.
      • A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit.
      • Access to reliable transportation, and the ability and willingness to travel primarily within the metro area to possibly transport and/or meet with persons in their residential settings, and to travel to various worksites throughout the county.Nice to have:
        • Currently licensed, in good standing, as a Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or licensed Psychologist (LP) in the state of Minnesota.
        • Experience:
          • Working as a clinical supervisor.
          • Supervising or leading a team or project.
          • Working with adult case management and/or the court system.
          • Using computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Teams.
          • Performing specialized tasks on a team such as managing workflow, delegating tasks, tracking data, and/or creating systems to improve workflow.
          • Demonstrating effective leadership in multicultural settings and providing culturally appropriate services for populations experiencing disparities.
          • Working with SSIS, MGA, ECF, and MS Office.
          • Knowledge and demonstrated ability to successfully apply diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices to reduce disparities.About the department:Human Services delivers a variety of services to individuals or families that assist with basic needs or encourage client change around specific objectives.
