Do you want to help a company grow from $150M to $500M or more through Digital Transformation? Smart Care is seeking a dynamic and proactive Director, Digital Transformation to manage a major digital transformation effort encompassing Field Service Management (FSM), Schedule/Dispatch Optimization, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Enterprise Resource Management (ERP). Future initiatives will include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Merged Reality, and IoT among numerous other possibilities. This exciting program is sponsored by our SVP, Operations and championed by our CEO and other key members of our executive leadership team.

This IT leader will be focused on creating and implementing a digital change vision. Collaboration within and across the company will be a critical piece of this role, as the goal is to develop enterprise level business processes and software solutions. In addition to having broad technical acumen in digital enterprise systems, an emphasis on aligning the business and preparing them for change will be critical for this role. In other words, the ability to communicate the benefits and prepare the organization for transformation will be key.

What You Will Do:

The purpose of this position is to direct the team who will be implementing new software systems ($10M+) supporting the core business functions of the company. Approximately twenty (20) employees and consultants report into this position. The position reports into the Vice President, Information Technology (VP, IT). Also reporting into the VP, IT are an Application Development Manager, BI Lead, and Infrastructure Manager.

The Director coordinates all team leads on the development project, as well as sets measurable goals and deadlines for these teams and stays in contact with team leads to ensure the project proceeds on schedule. This position leads and participates in the full development life cycle and will be responsible for the development and architecture of our enterprise software solutions.

Responsibilities


  • Develop creative solutions that can be implemented digitally and enable more efficient business processes for field service and supply chain
  • Balance the needs of the business users with the realities of what can be implemented in the software
  • Create the culture and capabilities needed to drive change. Do this with the understanding that people transformation is the most essential priority
  • As a critical stakeholder on the project leadership team, serve as a key point of contact for the executive team and program stakeholders
  • Interact closely with business users and IT to set priorities, resolve conflicts and hold teams accountable for deliverables
  • Leverage your experience in digital enterprise systems to challenge stakeholders on implementing the best possible solutions
  • Prioritize updates business users, executive leadership and other relevant stakeholders on progress towards digital transformation; This includes clearly communicating the benefits and getting people excited about change instead of opposing it
  • Translate business objectives into digital strategies
  • Ensures the consistency and maintainability of applications by ensuring creation, maintenance, and enforcement of standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions
  • Perform salary administration and conduct interviews and make decisions on new hires including consultants and permanent personnel
  • Works with individual employees on career development plans, identify role progression, identify successors and suggest training and certification goals
  • Provide leadership to the IT team, including motivating, developing and retaining talent

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
    • Eight (8) years managing Information Technology Teams
    • Strong familiarity with SDLC across all phases of a system implementation
    • Large Application implementation team leadership across both business and technology teams required
    • Strong understanding of Application Systems
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with subordinates, peers, and executive team
    • Track record of fostering team building and creating a team focused on service excellence
    • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects, reporting progress and working with cross-functional teams to resolve problems
    • Experience with full development lifecycle from business requirements analysis to testing and quality assurance
    • Experience leading technical teams, including technology vendor teams
    • Proven experience playing a strong role in a business transformation program/initiative
    • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

      Preferred Qualifications

      • MBA
      • Digital experience covering one or more of FSM, ERP, digital strategy, CRM, Dispatch Optimization
      • Experience working with and leading multi-skilled teams (UX Designers, Software Engineers, Engineering, etc.) on projects that touch a range of technical platforms
      • Knowledge of field services and the technical systems required for support
      • Implementation of a $10M+ application project
      • Knowledge of service data and service-based businesses
      • Experience with ERP systems implementation
      • Experience with agile methodologies
      • Strong customer service orientation
      • Ability to develop and deliver clear and impactful communications (oral and written) to peers and management in an appropriate and timely fashion
      • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities at the same time
