Inc. is seeking a Director of Tax who will play a key role in the
formation and structure of the company's tax strategy and
execution. This individual will be responsible for overall
corporate and real estate joint venture tax strategy & compliance,
minimization of tax risks, and tax filing activities. Some things
you can expect to do:
- Develop a comprehensive tax strategy - including researching,
documenting, and propsing appropriate tax savings strategies to
minimize effective tax rates whiile mitigating tax risks
- Keep apprised of changes in tax laws and regulations that may
impact the company's operations
- Be responsible for audits of federal and state income tax and
other tax-related examinations
- Evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of tax compliance process
to minimize costs
- Pursue refunds, credits, and incentives as the company moves
into new markets or new locations to maximize tax benefits to the
company
- Coordinate all aspects of Ryan's tax obligations - including
corporate, shareholder, real estate management, joint venture, and
sales tax strategy and compliance
- Review, edit, and revise contractural and joint venture
language to prevent and minimize tax risks and liabilities related
to fedreal and multiple state, county, and city jurisdictions
- Identify tax processes and workpaper improvements, including
evaluating tax software to help automate workflows
- Consult on quarterly individual shareholder tax estimates and
annual shareholder returns
- Ensure the timely and accurate filing of all sales tax and
other state-required filings To be successful in this tole, a
bachelor's degree in accounting is required. You must have at least
10 years of related experience, be a strong leader, and possess
exceptional problem-solving skills. Extensive tax knowledge
relative to individuals, partnerships, and corporations is
required. You must be able to influence decision-making, provide
mentorship, and be an effective coach. You will really stand out if
you:
- Have a master's degree in Business Taxation and/or CPA
- Are motivated, resourceful, and eager to streamline and
formulate a well-rounded strategy
- Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence
- Can collaborate well and communicate the benefits of tax
initiatives with stakeholders Positions require verification of
