  • Leads and designs Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization.
  • Manages all activities for continuous improvement and performance enhancement.
  • Employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate all levels of business problems/waste and recommend/initiate effective solutions and corrective actions.
  • Leads the implementation of operations special projects and plans/facilitate Kaizen events.Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility
    • To ensure implementation, continuation and continuous improvement of all Lean activities
    • Work with management, operations and plant employees to implement and track all lean tools in order to measurably increase throughput, improve quality, safety and reduce costs.
    • To track, measure and routinely report effectiveness of Lean activities.
    • Develop and instill a lean manufacturing culture through the entire organization including management.
    • Prepare the annual Lean budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure
    • Create work instructions where needed and upgrade/improve current work instructions
    • To provide options and alternatives for future facilities growth and expansion.
    • To pick up ,continue and develop our 6S program
    • To provide training and education to the entire work force across 3 shifts.
    • To ensure best practice and improvements shared and learned within other THALES manufacturing sites
    • Perform other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language(Skills and Abilities:
      • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field plus 5-8 years of experience in running Lean in a manufacturing environment
      • Lean Six Sigma certification
      • Proven record of accomplishment of strong Teamwork and creating a lean minded culture within an organization.
      • Demonstrated competence in statistical techniques, data and capacity analysis.
      • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and engineering drafting tools such as Draft sight /AutoCAD
      • Hands on experience with Value Stream Maps including creating current state maps .future state maps ,implementing future state action plans and optimizing product flow
      • Hands on expertise with lean tools such as 6S,visual management, waste elimination, standard work, Kanban and problem solving techniquesPreferred QualificationsSkills and Abilities:
        • 5 to 7+ years of experience in lean manufacturing across diverse organization's
        • Black Belt certificationEducation:
          • Bachelor's degree in and Engineering fieldPhysical DemandsRequires physical presence on the shop floor and active participation of 6S activities. This could include organizing and set up of works cells and manufacturing processes. Expectation is a minimum of 20% time on the shop floor.Special Position Requirements-- Schedule: Regular Work hours are 8 am until 5pm, Monday thru Friday. Will require as occasional needed visits to support manufacturing operations within manufacturing hours 24/5-- Physical Environment: Climate controlled Manufacturing/production area.-- Travel: THALES operates multiple sites with in the US and globally so domestic and international travel is expected. Typical 2 to 3 times per year but no longer than 10 days each
