Job Description Job Description Under the direction of the
Electrical Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer designs
electrical control systems for safe, effective, and efficient
operation of products, and programs PLCs, meeting or exceeding
company quality and production standards, and meeting customer
delivery requirements. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Design electrical
control systems for switchgear assemblies, meeting engineering
standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, and within
cost constraints. Review and interpret customer specifications and
sales agreements. Program and maintain design layouts and files in
the computerized system. Create programs for PLCs. Redesign
standard systems, improving quality and productivity, while
reducing costs. Evaluate and select electrical/electronic
components for control systems. Initiate purchase orders. Act as
technical resource for product field support of customers, service
personnel and field sales force, assisting in addressing and
resolving problems. Participate on cross-functional teams to
address and resolve manufacturing, design and quality problems, and
ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and
methods. Suggest ideas for new products. Stay current in new
developments in the industry. Travel to job sites to resolve
problems. Follow all housekeeping procedures. Comply with all
quality and safety regulations. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS BS in
relevant engineering discipline. 5 years of engineering experience.
Must be well versed in engineering disciplines. Must be
self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, capable of
analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought
and experience. Ability to design and implement in own area of
expertise Design of switchgear, switchboards, panelboards in
accordance with customer’s functional requirements Supporting
product assembly and test Provide project coordination and
management for customer orders. Develop product/project quotes.
Establish and maintain internal, customer, and supplier
