All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply, including individuals with disabilities and Protected Veterans.Job Description:The Refinish Technicians primary responsibility and accountability includes providing an exceptional and successful customer experience through the meticulous refinishing to ensure a quality refinished repair of each customers vehicle to restore it back to pre-accident condition. The Refinish Technician works in alignment with all team members in achieving the repair facilities KPIs.STARTING PAY: $22.00 - $26.00/hour, FLAT RATE **BASED ON EXPERIENCE**Key Job ResponsibilitiesEnsures consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) planProvides positive energy when interacting with customers or team membersRefinishes vehicle as per insurance guidelines and Assured Automotives quality standardsInspects body and prep repairs for deficiencies that may impact the quality of the refinish process; advise production supervisor as requiredAccountable for ensuring all required line items as per the Repair Orders (RO) are completed to meet Assureds quality standardsPerforms all refinish procedures according to factory specifications and Assured proceduresEnsures all paint deficiencies are corrected through wet sand and polishing (i.e. runs, dirt nibs, etc.)Ensures all formulations, preparations, top coating and curing meet OEM recommended standards for proper application sequence, timing and materials usageMaintains efficient paint material cost as per Assured KPIsCompletes surface preparation, vehicle masking, priming and top coating (as required)Applies all primers, sealers, basecoats, colour coats and clear coats with correct formulations as per paint manufacturer specificationsAccurately mixes paint to ensure quality colour matchImmediately notifies the Repair Planner of any additional damage that does not appear on the ROAssists management in the recommendation and implementation of new equipmentKnows status of assigned vehicles and helps problem-solve on getting and keeping all vehicles on schedule for on-time deliveryConsistently utilizes all required safety equipment and follows proper refinishing procedures in compliance with Ontario Health & Safety guidelinesAdheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposalFollows vendor procedures to maintain all tools and equipment, including maintenance of paint booth and booth filtersExplains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include other teammates and customers as requiredContinuously learns new technical information and techniques in formal training session in order to stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technologyCompletes the Quality Control(QC) Checklist before moving vehicle to next departmentMaintains a clean and orderly production area throughout the workday, ensuring a final clean up at the end of the dayWorks in accordance with daily production schedule (as directed by Production Supervisor)Advises production supervisor of collision repair problems that may have been overlooked that impact the production processSupports all team members when requiredParticipates in monthly Health & Safety and staff meeting (if required)Attends training, information sessions and workshops recommended by Store ManagerMaintains the Assured KPIs (Sales/ GP/ NP/ CSI/ AR/ CT&TT)Upholds Assureds Core Values : Honesty, Integrity & RespectAdheres to Assureds Policies and Procedures, according to established business practicesActively participates in daily production meeting with the Management Team, as requiredConsistently demonstrates actions and behaviors supporting our 10 PromiseEducation and/or Experience RequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalentA minimum of 2 years previous experience in a collision repair facility refinish roleProvincial College of Trades Member preferredPPG Certification preferredI-Car Registered (working towards Gold Class certification)Required Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of manufacturers repair/refinishing processes & adherence to Assureds processesAbility to use selected vendor materials and general supplies efficiently and cost effectivelyDemonstrated commitment to continued learning by attending Assured/ Industry related trainingCommunicate effectively, both verbally and in writingStrong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracyAbility to interpret work scope from vehicle estimates or work ordersComprehensive knowledge of vehicle repair practicesEffectively work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating multi-tasking ability while working under pressureFrequently required to bend, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift approximately 51 lbs.Must provide your own toolsPlease note, this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
