Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1 years
Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required.
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be
considered. An educational role is available for an Intervener
Substitute to provide 1:1 support for a first-grade student with
dual sensory impairments. This position is a 6-week leave coverage
role beginning March 2, 2026, within an elementary school setting.
The intervener will follow the students established routines,
communication methods, and individualized support plan to maintain
continuity during the primary interveners leave. Location: South
St. Paul, Minnesota Grade Level: 1st Grade (Elementary) Schedule:
MondayFriday, standard school-day hours (exact schedule to be
provided upon placement) Duration: 6-week leave coverage
Responsibilities: Deliver individualized 1:1 student support
aligned with the students sensory and communication needs
Facilitate communication, orientation, mobility, and curriculum
access for the student Address sensory, environmental, and safety
needs throughout the school day Collaborate effectively with
classroom teachers, related service providers, and the Student
Services team Document student observations and progress according
to district requirements Ensure seamless continuity of services
throughout the primary interveners leave Qualifications and
Experience: Bachelors degree required Valid Short-Call Substitute
License (PELSB) Prior experience as an Intervener, with a district
preference for candidates with this background Experience
supporting students with sensory impairments, preferably
deafblindness Ability to implement communication systems and
sensory access strategies proficiently Strong collaboration skills
to work within a multidisciplinary team This role offers the
