Social Media Manager Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States Requisition #: 18000KMF Post Date: Oct 25, 2018 **Careers that Change Lives** The Manager, Global Social Media will help lead and shape Medtronic?s thinking on how to accelerate our connections to our key audiences through current social media and emerging platforms. They will work to build out global best practices, standards and capabilities for our business groups and regions, and be the subject matter expert for the organization. We?re looking for someone with a passion for technology, great content and marketing. This person also needs to be able to translate and advocate that passion for others within the organization. They must be insatiably curious and be able to navigate a larger organization ? teams need to be clamoring to have this person join their meetings because their knowledge helps move us forward. Comfort with ambiguity is mandatory, along with the ability to be persistent, build a network and a team player. This position is the subject matter expert for all current social technologies and emerging platforms. They will be responsible for helping the organization pioneer world class capabilities for the new way customers are communicating and buying. They must be creative, have an entrepreneurial drive and an ability to think quickly on their feet. This person will need to collaborate with many teams ? both cross-functionally and geographically. Experience implementing large social campaigns in Fortune 500 companies that are in regulated industries (banking, pharm, alcohol), is a bonus as is experience marketing to patients, health care professionals or health system leaders. It is also critical to understand the technical operations of the platforms themselves (API knowledge etc.). **A Day in the Life** ?Leverage deep expertise in social media listening, publishing, engagement and measurement to advocate and implement best practices across groups/regions ?Lead efforts to develop and optimize a global social media listening program, including platform management and use and related monitor and response process, working closely with Comms, PR and Customer Support teams ?Work with and advise Groups / Regions on approaches, processes and platforms to support publishing, engagement and measurement ?Lead innovation across current social platforms and identify emerging platform opportunities and trends in social engagement ?Manage relationships with key social media management platform vendors, maintain awareness of roadmap and future functionality that may be leveraged, support relationships with major social platforms utilized (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) ?Provide escalation support on user questions related to platform implementation and use ?Support the development of corporate social media policies guidelines, and monitor compliance / manage issues ?Support training/certification efforts related to social media use ?Manage relationships with Legal Regulatory teams to refine process related to social media approval ?Develop and implement unique and effective paid social media ad campaigns via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or YouTube, including paid ads, promoted posts pins, and contests ?Support and advise, and at times help program manage, efforts to build communities, do blogger outreach, or identify/monitor/manage key influencers ?Create and facilitate cross-functional network of social media practitioners and enthusiasts **Must Have** ?A Bachelor's degree is required ?5-8 years? experience working in digital marketing and social media is required ?Demonstrated experience developing social strategy and executing programs is required **Nice to Have** ?Experience at a digital or social strategy agency is preferred ?Technical ?under-the-hood? experience with LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. is required ?Experience with a social media management system is required, experience with Spredfast is a plus ?Strong organizational, communication, leadership, interpersonal, skills are required, and an ability to manage the needs of multiple stakeholders ?Entrepreneurial experience working at a start-up or smaller brand is a plus ?Strong analytical skills and experience with metrics and reporting for Audience segmentation and targeting is required ?Detail-oriented, results-driven attitude is a required ?A minimum of 10% travel is required **About Medtronic** Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
