Communications Manager is a part of Aeon's Advancement Team. This
team is responsible for driving revenue for the organization and
managing its brand. Under the supervision of the Director of
Marketing and Communications, this position helps develop and
implement the strategic marketing and communications plan. The role
is responsible for activities that promote, enhance, and protect
Aeon's brand and drive financial resources. This individual's work
advances the organization's position with relevant constituents and
drives broader awareness and support for the organization.Key
responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Management: Supervise the Marketing and Communications
Associate. Promote a culture of continuous improvement that values
learning and a commitment to equity and diversity. Mentor and
develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach.
Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals,
assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and
conduct annual performance appraisals.
- Marketing & Communications: With the Director of Marketing &
Communications, develop strategies that enhance awareness and
support of Aeon. Oversee print communications, advertising, social
media, the website, email marketing, collateral review and
development. Lead on communications for events and leverage
promotional opportunities and media coverage. Ensure all print and
digital collateral aligns with Aeon brand standards and
accessibility standards.
- Project Management: Act as project manager and editor of all
print and digital communications for the organization's
awareness-building, fundraising, staff recruitment, property-based
and housing development initiatives. Oversee photographers and
videographers, internal and external designers, printers, mailing
process and project budgets. Follow and adopt best practices to
maximize Aeon's fundraising, donor stewardship and visibility.
- Analysis: Oversee the creation of quarterly reports on
marketing & communications metrics. Use analytics to evaluate
effectiveness of strategies, and implement testing to maximize
engagement and fundraising.
- Participate as an active member of the Advancement team,
including supporting other activities as needed. Proficient use of
Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and PowerPoint. Seek
out and participate in job-related professional development
opportunities. Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years previous experience in a marketing or communications
function is required.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, overseeing
multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop
positive relationships with staff across the organization, as well
as vendors, residents and external partners with the ability to
engage in interpersonal interactions that are culturally
responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and
expectations.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with high attention to
detail.
- Understanding of changing technologies, and ability to
successfully utilize digital and other channels in integrated
marketing, communication, and fundraising strategies.
- Results-driven style, adaptability, personal accountability,
and excellent time management skills.
- Must have a commitment to learning and participating in Aeon's
diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
- Proficient in Microsoft office.

- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of
timeCompensationThis full-time, salaried position pays
$62,000-$67,000 annually depending on experience and
qualifications. Aeon offers a comprehensive benefits package for
