Job Description:

A Financial Planner at Portico will gather and analyze information to support the financial planning needs of our members. Today this includes supporting an inbound queue to answer member questions on an as-needed basis as well as building long-term relationships with members to support their financial planning needs across a wide range of topics. This could include budgeting, debt management, retirement planning, tax concepts, life insurance and estate planning, as well as others. Portico also maintains a proprietary retirement planning tool that provides retirement planning and asset allocation advice. The Financial Planning team must be knowledgeable of the regulatory environment governing financial planning services. A Financial Planner at Portico must actively listen to the member's financial situation and utilize various tools to develop and communicate actionable, fiduciary guidance to assist members with their short and long-term retirement and financial planning goals.

This position must understand and comply with all of Portico's Governance, Risk, and Compliance standards (e.g. internal controls, regulatory compliance, policy compliance, evidence retention) and promotes these standards in a manner that is required by this position.

Being a trusted, empathetic resource for members who may have little or no education in financial planning/risk management concepts.
Providing superior and courteous service to enhance the member's wellbeing while maintaining a positive member relationship.
Answering member's financial questions on an as-needed basis through the dedicated Portico Financial Planner Line
Assisting members with the Portico Retirement Planning Tool
Collecting and analyzing information regarding the member's risk tolerance, long- and short-term goals (this could include income, assets, asset allocation, and debts)
- Providing fiduciary education and guidance to help members with their financial planning goals
Educating members regarding the advantages, risks, and disadvantages of different asset allocation strategies.
Researching financial planning topics and coordinate projects from time to time as assigned
Understanding and complying with all of Portico's policies and practices, including laws and regulations governing the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Sharing best practices and strategies across the Financial Planning team to best serve our members
Maintaining all necessary certifications as required

Strong analytical skills and a desire to work with people

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills
Strong aptitude for customer service
Impeccable ability to maintain confidentiality
Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
Well-developed problem-solving skills

Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, finance, accounting or other related field.
CFP Required

EXPERIENCE (length in years and type)
3-5 years financial planning (or financial services) experience
Experience with personal financial planning concepts such as retirement planning, employee benefits, insurance, investment vehicles, asset allocation, estate planning, and income taxation.
